As a Product Development Engineer, you will work on products advancing laparoscopic surgical procedures. You will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Design and develop new products for minimally invasive surgery
  • Improve existing products
  • Develop sustainable manufacturing processes
  • Work with many cross functional areas of the business
  • Gain deep procedural knowledge and understanding to design meaningful products
  • Develop specifications, test methodologies and execute verification and validation testing
  • Document results in reports and laboratory notebooks and engineering reports
  • Follow design controls to see a product from conceptualization through realization



This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Biomedical Engineering or similar
  • 1-5 years experience
  • Proven ability to creatively solve problems
  • Working knowledge of CAD modeling and drafting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Self motivation and ability to multi-task


The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Knowledge of different methods of prototyping
  • Ability to work with hands
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Knowledge of the design process
  • Curious, self-starter, quick learner and hands-on
