Position Description

The primary responsibility of the Clinical Education Specialist (CES) is to support our initiatives within to provide clinicians (primarily surgeons and surgical residents) with seminars and hands-on training opportunities that meet their educational needs and that align with the focus of Applied Medical. Specifically, the CES coordinates all aspects of the hands-on and virtual training programs that we support in areas such as: trans anal surgery, vNOTES, HALS, single-incision surgery, and basic laparoscopic skills. The CES provides support during cadaveric, and simulation courses.

 

Develop Field Strategies

  • Establish and maintain effective communication strategies that foster collaboration and alignment with Field team leadership to empower the adoption of Applied Medical’s technologies
  • Support the execution of strategic plans and disseminate clinical resources for medical education initiatives
  • Assist with the identification and recruitment of key decision-makers within target systems for training
  • Prioritize education-related business opportunity requests that align with strategic goals
  • Lead meetings and deliver presentations with a high degree of skill, conveying appropriate messages to all levels of facility administration

 

Educate Surgeons

  • Coordinate and manage hands-on and didactic courses, create or modify course content, and collaborate with physician faculty members and key opinion leaders
  • Understand and ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures relating to educational programs
  • Attend educational events, regional shows and exhibits

 

Improve Outcomes

  • Take ownership of (that is, demonstrate leadership and accountability for) tracking procedural adoption and providing educational resources to new and trained customers
  • Apply metrics to educational activities to drive procedural adoption
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of common minimally invasive surgery procedures as well as anatomy, OR equipment and competitive information and practices

 


Position Requirements

  • A minimum of three to five years of medical device sales experience with a proven track record of continuous sales success
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams
  • The ability to effectively communicate with a large sales team in a timely manner
  • A strong entrepreneurial drive coupled with self-initiative and an independent, goal-oriented approach
  • A customer-centered, solution-oriented frame of reference
  • A demonstrated ability to make timely, well-reasoned decisions and adapt to shifting priorities and competing demands
  • A flexible personality, disposed to working well on a team
  • Excellent computer skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to make frequent trips to customer clinics, hospitals, and off-site meetings (travel time may vary, depending on your territory)
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Applied Medical Field Team Members must be able to meet third party credentialing requirements, which may include but are not limited to COVID-19 vaccination.
