At Applied Medical, we manufacture surgical devices for a wide range of specialties in-house. Due to the growing global demand we aim to expand our production capabilities in Amersfoort and are therefore looking for a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work on setting up new manufacturing processes and/or improving the processes already in place. On already established production lines you will also provide support by troubleshooting any issues encountered on the line and making updates where needed.
In this position, you will start by building your understanding of our processes, procedures, and products by working on your own tasks with support from more senior members in your team. Once onboarded, you will lead or support process improvement or product design change projects. Within these projects, you will perform testing and troubleshooting in our manufacturing areas, set up test protocols and oversee testing. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance to the medical regulations by generating comprehensive technical documentation to support any changes you are implementing.
To efficiently work on qualification projects, you are able to swiftly analyze issues as they arise, develop solutions and communicate these to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. To succeed in this role, you have a technical background, an eye for quality, solid collaboration and communication skills and a drive for improvement.
Within Applied Medical this position has the internal job title of Process Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, develop, qualify and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.
- Perform sustaining and lead troubleshooting effort of finished devices and their respective components
- Perform root cause analysis, propose and implement corrections and corrective/preventative actions
- Develop, qualify, implement, and update engineering documents such as manufacturing/quality instructions, drawings and test methods
- Write protocols and reports, conduct various tests, collect and analyze data and trends
- Provide technical support to customers

Wat heb je nodig
- Engineering degree (HBO/HTS/BSc/MSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering or similar Engineering field) or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience with manufacturing and/or process engineering, preferably in the life science sector (pharma, medical device)
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
- Experience with MS office
- Experience in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred
- Experience in Microsoft’s Visio and Project software is preferred
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in Dutch are a nice-to-have
